DID I JUST FIND A HOME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT?

Hola equipoo! Get ready and grab your Mate, because I’m about to spill the beans on living in Dubai, a city that will leave you saying Guau! (WOW)

Dubai’s a super modern city that’s popped up in the middle of the sand. Imagine giant buildings reaching for the bright blue sky, fancy cars cruising down streets with palm trees, and a non-stop buzz of people from all over the world. That’s Dubai!

Now, me? I never thought I’d find a home in the middle of the desert. But here I am, almost a year in, and Dubai has woven its magic around me. It’s a city of contrasts, a place where tradition and innovation dance a tango.

One day, I can be bargaining for spices and hand-woven rugs in the labyrinthine alleys of the Deira Souk, the air thick with exotic scents. The next, I might be sipping afternoon tea at the Burj Al Arab, marveling at the architectural marvel against the backdrop of the turquoise Arabian Sea. Read my blog here on why you should treat yourself to exclusive experiences like this.

But Dubai’s more than just glitz and glamour. It’s a treasure trove of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. I love getting lost in the historic Al Fahidi neighborhood, with its traditional wind towers whispering stories of the past. A visit to the Souk is a sensory overload, a kaleidoscope of colors and aromas that’ll transport you to another world.

Dubai isn’t just a feast for the eyes, it’s a treat for your belly too. This city brings together people from all over the world, and you can taste it in the food! There’s everything from delicious Arabic mezze (think small plates with dips and spreads) to steaming bowls of Vietnamese pho (noodle soup). Dubai’s a dream come true for anyone who loves to try new things, and amazing hidden restaurants are waiting to be discovered everywhere you go.

The best part?

Living in Dubai makes exploring the region a breeze. One weekend, I can be scaling the ancient ruins of Petra in Jordan, and the next, I’m trekking through the majestic dunes of the Omani desert. Dubai’s geographical location makes it the perfect base for weekend getaways and regional adventures, allowing me to keep that travel bug satiated.

Now, Dubai might seem like an unlikely place to find a home, but here’s the thing: it’s full of surprises. It’s a city that welcomes people from all walks of life, creating a vibrant community of expats and fellow travelers. We connect over shared experiences, exploring the city’s hidden corners and swapping stories from our journeys.

This sense of community has made Dubai feel like a home away from home, a place where my adventurous spirit can truly flourish.

So, equipoo, are you ready to experience the magic of Dubai?

Stay tuned for more adventures, tips, and maybe even a few Arabic phrases to impress the locals.
